"From Gospel to Hip-Hop: A Spirited Journey" Celebration Performance
Rap/hip-hop music can be traced to the origins in gospel, blues, jazz and R&B. Most of these performers in Austin are young African-American men in their mid-twenties who have little opportunity for their voices to be heard.
To celebrate these artists and Black History Month 2010, the live sounds of gospel, blues, jazz, R&B and today's hip-hop will resonate from the Carver Museum Cultural Arts Center to a live audience, on television, on radio and on the World Wide Web.
Friday, February 26
7:00 pm
Carver Museum and Cultural Center
